Short answer
Claude and ChatGPT are the two we verify today, along with Codex and Cursor, and they use the same connector URL. For Perplexity, Gemini, Grok and Copilot we do not verify custom remote-MCP connector support, so we are not publishing setup steps we cannot stand behind. (Perplexity's own Portfolio feature can read linked brokerage accounts through Plaid, read-only, which is a different thing from a custom connector.) The check takes under a minute: look in the assistant's settings for a connectors, MCP or tools section that lets you paste in your own server URL, a free-text field and not a pick-list. “Not verified by us” is not the same as “does not work”. Client capabilities in this area change quickly and vary by product tier, and we would rather be a step behind than publish steps that waste your time. If one of these ships support, it gets its own guide with real steps.
How to check your assistant in under a minute

Why the same URL works everywhere
The connector is a standard remote MCP server, built once and shared by every assistant. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for letting an assistant call external tools, and a client that implements it can talk to any server that speaks it.
So every question here comes down to what the client supports. Nothing needs building on our side for Perplexity or Gemini; those clients need to expose a way to add a custom server. When they do, the URL above works unchanged. See what an MCP connector is.

Pasting your holdings in instead, and why it disappoints
The obvious workaround is to paste your holdings into whichever assistant you prefer. It is free and it fails in four specific ways, none of them loud:

Directory integrations versus custom servers
This distinction explains most of the confusion in this area, and it is worth ten seconds. A directory integration is a list the assistant maintains: the provider applies, the assistant approves, and you pick from what is there. A custom server is a field where you paste any URL and the assistant connects to it.
The two look identical in a settings screen and behave completely differently for you. If an assistant only offers a directory, then whether you can connect your portfolio depends entirely on whether your provider happens to be listed, which is a commercial question. If it accepts custom servers, you can connect anything that speaks the protocol today, without anyone's permission.
When you are checking your assistant, this is the thing to establish. “Connectors” in the menu does not settle it; the question is whether there is somewhere to type a URL.

Same answer and same check. Support for custom remote MCP servers varies by client and by product tier and changes often, and we would rather say we have not verified it than publish a menu path that sends you looking for something that is not there. Does Grok support MCP connectors?
Not something we verify. If Grok exposes a way to add a custom MCP server URL, the Walnut connector works there, because the connector is a standard remote MCP server, built once for every client. The protocol was designed for one URL to serve many clients.
Can Microsoft Copilot see my portfolio?
Copilot is several separate products, and connector support differs between them, so there is no single answer we can stand behind. Check the specific Copilot you use for a connectors or plugins section that accepts a custom server URL.
Why do you not just publish setup guides for all of them?
Because we cannot verify they work, and a setup guide for a capability that may not exist wastes your time and damages the guides that are accurate. When we can verify a client, it gets its own page with real steps. Until then this page tells you how to check in under a minute.
What should I use in the meantime?
Claude or ChatGPT, both of which are verified and both of which use the same connector URL. If you prefer another assistant for everything else, it is reasonable to keep using it for general questions and switch to a connected one for anything about your actual holdings.
Can I just paste my holdings into Perplexity or Gemini instead?
You can, and it fails in four predictable ways: it is stale the moment prices move, it silently omits anything you forgot, the assistant may state prices from training data with complete confidence, and you have to redo it every time, which in practice means you stop. A connection removes all four.
Will the same connector work if these clients add support?
