Kingspan Group plc. (KGSPY) Stock Price & How to Invest
Last updated July 2026
Short answer
KGSPY is the US over-the-counter ADR for Kingspan Group plc, the Irish maker of insulated panels, insulation boards, roofing and data-centre infrastructure that is listed in Dublin and London. Owning it is a bet that energy-efficient building rules and data-centre construction keep growing faster than general construction, which has been weak in Europe since 2019.

What does Kingspan Group plc. (KGSPY) do?
Kingspan Group plc makes the outer skin of buildings and, increasingly, the equipment that goes inside data centres. Its biggest business is insulated panels: steel-faced sandwich panels with an insulating core used for warehouses, factories, cold stores and offices. Around that sit insulation boards, roofing and waterproofing, daylighting, ventilation and water products, and the Tate raised-flooring business. In 2025 Kingspan grouped its fastest-growing, data-centre-heavy activities into a unit called Advnsys, which includes airflow management, cooling, containment and daylighting; Kingspan said in September 2025 that Advnsys made up about 18% of group sales. The rest is reported as the Insulated Building Envelopes business.
The company was founded in 1965 by Eugene Murtagh in Kingscourt, County Cavan, where it is still headquartered, and floated on the Irish Stock Exchange in 1989 at a value of about IR£20 million. Growth since then has come from a long run of acquisitions: Tate in 2001, CRH's European insulation arm in 2010, ThyssenKrupp's construction division in 2012, Joris Ide in 2015, Synthesia in 2018, Ondura and Derbigum in 2022, CaPlast in 2023 and a majority stake in the German wood-fibre insulation maker STEICO in 2024 for about €250 million. In 2026 it took a majority stake in the Argentine panel maker Grupo LTN and, in August, agreed to buy Irish data-centre power specialist BMC Manufacturing for an initial €850 million. Gene Murtagh, the founder's son, is chief executive. The shares trade on Euronext Dublin (ticker KRX) and the London Stock Exchange, and the company sits in the ISEQ 20.
Kingspan reported 2025 revenue of about €9.2 billion (+7%) and trading profit of about €955 million (+5%, or +8% before currency), a trading margin of 10.4%. Sales grew about 12% in Central and Northern Europe, 7% in the Americas and 4% in Western and Southern Europe. In the first half of 2026 revenue rose 8% to €4.86 billion and trading profit rose 10% to €487.2 million, with Advnsys revenue up about 34% before currency against low single-digit growth in the envelope business. Management raised its full-year trading profit target to €1.125 billion and expects revenue above €10 billion for the first time.
KGSPY itself is an unsponsored American depositary receipt on the US OTC market. Market listings describe it as one ADR per ordinary share, though Kingspan does not publish the ratio itself. Its price moves with the euro as well as the shares, and dividends are converted to dollars after Irish dividend withholding tax (25% standard rate) may be deducted. Because the ADR is unsponsored, Kingspan files no reports with the SEC; its results, published in euros, are the reference documents.
What's driving Kingspan Group plc. (KGSPY)?
1. Data centres through Advnsys
Advnsys is where Kingspan's growth is concentrated. Its trading profit rose 17% in 2025, management said order intake in early 2026 was running at double the prior-year level, and first-half 2026 revenue grew about 34% before currency. Gene Murtagh has described deep partnerships with several hyperscale cloud operators, and he called US construction subdued in mid-2026 apart from the tech sector. In September 2025 Kingspan said it was exploring a listing of Advnsys in Amsterdam while remaining a strong majority shareholder, and it booked €4.5 million of costs for that work in the first half of 2026. No listing had been announced by the time of the August 2026 results.
2. The BMC Manufacturing deal
On 13 August 2026 Kingspan agreed to buy BMC Manufacturing Group, based in Ashbourne, County Meath, for an initial €850 million on a debt-free, cash-free basis: €600 million in cash from existing credit facilities and €250 million in new Kingspan shares, plus up to €50 million more if profit targets are hit. BMC makes low-voltage switchgear and power management systems for data centres, employs more than 350 people across four Irish plants and plans a US factory. It is forecast to earn about €280 million of revenue and €90 million of EBITDA in 2026, with EBITDA guided to about €180 million in 2027, which Kingspan says puts the price below 5x 2027 EBITDA. The aim is to sell power, cooling and containment together. Completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
3. Building regulation and energy efficiency
The core panel and board businesses depend on how much insulation building codes require and how much energy owners want to save. Tighter European energy-performance rules and corporate decarbonisation targets support thicker, better-performing envelopes, and Kingspan's own Planet Passionate programme (launched 2019) sets twelve targets on energy, carbon, circularity and water, including a 90% cut in its own carbon emissions by 2030. The offset is that new non-residential construction has been weak: Kingspan cites an 11% fall in European non-residential output since 2019. Gains in the envelope business have therefore come mostly from taking share and adding products rather than from a rising market.
4. Geographic expansion
Kingspan has pushed well beyond Ireland and the UK. In 2025 Central and Northern Europe was the fastest-growing region, and in the first half of 2026 Americas revenue rose by a high-teens percentage at constant currency while the smaller rest-of-world business grew by more than 20%. Tate is building a $61.2 million plant in Glasgow, Kentucky, announced in 2025, and the Grupo LTN stake in 2026 deepens a Latin American position first built through Synthesia. STEICO adds a German-led wood-fibre insulation business, which matters for buyers who want bio-based materials. Wider reach spreads construction-cycle risk but adds currency exposure (an €8.4 million headwind to H1 2026 trading profit).
5. Margins, cash and capital allocation
The group trading margin was 10.0% in H1 2026, up 20 basis points, against 10.4% for full-year 2025, a business with a seasonally stronger second half. Free cash flow was about €144 million in the first half, reversing an outflow a year earlier, and net debt was about €1.86 billion, or about 1.56x EBITDA, with roughly €1.29 billion of liquidity. Kingspan paused a previously announced €650 million share buyback to keep room for acquisitions, and expects net debt to EBITDA of about 1.9x at the end of 2026 after BMC, falling to about 1.1x by the end of 2027. The interim dividend rose 3% to 27.1 cent.
6. The 2026 and 2027 targets
Management's raised target of €1.125 billion of 2026 trading profit implies about 18% growth on 2025 and about 25% growth in the second half alone, so H2 delivery is the near-term test. The original 2026 target, set with the 2025 results, was €1.05 billion. Kingspan has also pointed to an organic trading profit target of €1.3 billion for 2027, before any contribution from BMC. Murtagh said in August 2026 that the order backlog was considerably higher than a year earlier.
What are the risks to Kingspan Group plc. (KGSPY)?
The biggest swing factor is the construction cycle: non-residential building in Europe has fallen about 11% since 2019, Kingspan described the US as subdued outside tech in mid-2026, and a sluggish, weather-hit start to 2026 shows how quickly volumes can soften. Growth has become more reliant on data centres, so a slowdown in hyperscaler capital spending would hit Advnsys and the newly acquired BMC at the same time; the BMC price only looks low if its EBITDA roughly doubles from about €90 million in 2026 to about €180 million in 2027 as forecast. The deal also adds debt, with net debt to EBITDA expected near 1.9x at the end of 2026, and issues €250 million of new shares. Input costs matter because panels use steel and insulation cores use petrochemical feedstocks, and price changes are not always passed through quickly. Reputation is a lasting issue: the Grenfell Tower Inquiry's September 2024 final report found Kingspan's marketing of its K15 insulation was dishonest and helped create the conditions for a rival product to enter the market by dishonest means, and fire-safety regulation of building envelopes remains a political subject in the UK and elsewhere. For US holders of KGSPY there are further layers: the ADR is unsponsored and trades over the counter, liquidity is thinner than in Dublin or London, returns are translated from euros, dividends may be reduced by Irish withholding tax, and the company makes no SEC filings.
Is KGSPY a buy or a sell?
We give no verdict on Kingspan Group plc.. Both cases are real, which is why the question is contested at all, so here is the strongest version of each.
The case for buying. Data centres through Advnsys. Advnsys is where Kingspan's growth is concentrated.
The case against. The biggest swing factor is the construction cycle: non-residential building in Europe has fallen about 11% since 2019, Kingspan described the US as subdued outside tech in mid-2026, and a sluggish, weather-hit start to 2026 shows how quickly volumes can soften.

How is Kingspan Group plc. (KGSPY) valued? (approximate, October 2026)
A simple financial snapshot. These are approximations and refresh quarterly; for current figures see Kingspan Group plc.'s investor relations page or your broker.
- Revenue (FY2025): ~€9.2B (+7%)
- Revenue (H1 2026): ~€4.86B (+8%)
- Trading profit (H1 2026): ~€487M, 10.0% margin
- FY2026 trading profit target: ~€1.125B (raised August 2026)
- EPS (H1 2026): 180.5 cent (+5%)
- Net debt (June 2026): ~€1.86B, ~1.56x EBITDA
The numbers describe a company growing high single digits overall with a much faster engine inside it. Revenue on a trailing basis is roughly €9.5 billion, and the raised €1.125 billion trading profit target would mean margins move back above 10% for the year, helped by the faster-growing Advnsys mix. Earnings per share grew more slowly (+5% in H1) than trading profit (+10%), reflecting financing costs and currency. Leverage is moderate at about 1.6x EBITDA before BMC, and management expects it to rise to about 1.9x after the deal and then fall. All figures are in euros, so the KGSPY price in dollars also moves with the euro.
Who competes with Kingspan Group plc. (KGSPY)?
Insulated panels and metal building envelopes
Kingspan's largest business competes with regional panel makers such as Tata Steel's building systems, ArcelorMittal Construction, Metecno, Brucha and Isopan in Europe and Cornerstone Building Brands and Nucor's insulated panel business in North America. Competition turns on fire performance, thermal values, lead times and installer relationships.
Insulation materials
In boards and loose insulation Kingspan meets Saint-Gobain (Isover), Rockwool, Owens Corning, Recticel and Xella. Mineral-wool producers like Rockwool argue on fire safety, while PIR and phenolic boards like Kingspan's argue on thinner walls for the same thermal performance.
Roofing and waterproofing
Through Ondura, Derbigum and CaPlast Kingspan competes with Holcim's roofing arm, Carlisle Companies, GAF and Sika in membranes, and with BMI Group in pitched roofing.
Data-centre infrastructure
Advnsys and BMC put Kingspan alongside Vertiv, Schneider Electric, Eaton and nVent in cooling, power and containment, and alongside specialised raised-floor and airflow suppliers. Those rivals are much larger in power equipment, which is the gap the BMC deal is meant to start closing.

FAQ
What is KGSPY?
+
KGSPY is the ticker for an unsponsored American depositary receipt representing shares of Kingspan Group plc, an Irish building-materials company. It trades over the counter in US dollars. Kingspan's primary shares trade on Euronext Dublin as KRX and are also quoted in London. Market listings describe the ratio as one ADR per ordinary share.
How do I buy Kingspan stock in the US?
+
US investors can usually buy KGSPY through brokers that offer OTC securities, the same way as a regular ticker, though some apps restrict OTC trading or charge extra for it. Liquidity is thinner than on the home exchange, so bid-ask spreads can be wider. Brokers with international access can also buy the Dublin-listed KRX shares directly in euros.
Does Kingspan pay a dividend?
+
Yes. Kingspan pays an interim and a final dividend each year. The total for 2025 was 55.5 cent per share, including a 29.2 cent final dividend, and the 2026 interim dividend was raised 3% to 27.1 cent. For KGSPY holders the depositary converts the payment to dollars, and Irish dividend withholding tax may be deducted first.
When does Kingspan report earnings?
+
Kingspan reports full-year results early in the year and half-year results in August (the H1 2026 statement came out on 12 August 2026). It also issues trading updates between those reports. Results are in euros and are published on Kingspan's investor website and through the Dublin and London exchanges, not the SEC.
Who owns Kingspan?

What was Kingspan's role in the Grenfell Tower fire?
+
Kingspan's K15 insulation formed a small part of the insulation on Grenfell Tower. The inquiry's Phase 1 report said the main cause of the fire's spread was the plastic-cored ACM cladding. The September 2024 final report criticised Kingspan's marketing of K15 as dishonest. Kingspan apologised for internal communications and said it had improved its fire-testing processes.
