How it works

From one login to every account

  1. Connect at your broker

You sign in on your broker's page. Walnut never sees the password.

  2. Every account is listed

Each account gets its own row, with its value and positions.

  3. Open one on its own

Its value, its return against the S&P 500 and its holdings by weight.

  4. See what each can do

Each connection is marked Can place trades or Tracking only.

Seeing all your accounts together, answered plainly.

What does account analysis show?

Short answer

The total across every broker you connect, then each account on its own: value, positions, return against the S&P 500 and what moved it.

Each account shows under the name your broker gives it.

Why does Walnut keep my accounts separate?

Short answer

An HSA and a Roth IRA have different jobs, even at the same broker. The read on your Roth comes from what the Roth holds.

Ask the assistant about your IRA and it answers from that account. If two could match, it asks which one.

Which of my accounts can trade through Walnut?

Short answer

Accounts at Public, Robinhood (through an Agentic account), E*Trade, tastytrade, Webull (US and Canada), moomoo, Questrade, Wealthsimple, Trading 212 and Stake can place orders you approve. Elsewhere you place orders yourself.

A connection granted with view access only can't trade. Reconnect with trading permission to change that.

Robinhood shows as up to two rows: the Agentic account Walnut can buy in, and your other Robinhood accounts together.

How does it tell money I added from gains?

Short answer

Walnut compares each day's change in value with what the holdings did in the market. The difference is money paid in or taken out, so adding $500 doesn't show as a gain.

This needs at least two days of history. The return against the S&P 500 works from day one.

Quick answers

Does Walnut see my broker password?
No. You sign in on your broker's page, and Walnut never sees or stores it.
Can Walnut move money between accounts?
No. Walnut never holds or moves money. It only places orders you approve.
What if I disconnect a broker?
Walnut revokes its access at the broker and removes those holdings. You can reconnect any time.
Can I add a 401(k) my broker doesn't connect?
Yes, as an outside account with a balance you give. It counts toward net worth and goals.
How often do my accounts update?
After the close each weekday. The assistant pulls a fresh read first if yours is out of date.
Does it show my full account numbers?
No, only the last four digits, used to tell apart two accounts with the same name.
