Everything else people ask about Empower, answered plainly.
Short answer
Yes, for seeing your money in one place. Empower's dashboard and planning tools are free, and Empower Brokerage has no minimum and 1,000 free online trades a year. Its managed Personal Strategy service starts at $100,000 and 0.89% a year.
Most people meet Empower through a workplace retirement plan or its free net worth dashboard, which links bank, loan and investment accounts from other firms. The tools are the front door; the paid products are managed accounts with advisors.
The free tools show balances, allocation and a retirement projection. They do not tell you what to do about a single holding that has lagged the market for a year, or whether one fund is carrying too much of the portfolio.

Short answer
Empower has no official connector for ChatGPT or Claude as of October 2026, and we found no AI assistant on its site. Walnut links an Empower account through a secure connection, read only, and its connector brings those holdings into Claude and ChatGPT.
Through Walnut the assistant sees your Empower holdings at live prices, next to anything you hold at other brokers. It reads and explains; orders for an Empower account are still placed at Empower.
