Where Walnut fits

Robinhood's tools see Robinhood. Walnut reads it next to Fidelity, Vanguard or any other broker you connect, puts every holding against the S&P 500, and lets you ask about all of it in one place.

Everything else people ask about Robinhood, answered plainly.

Is Robinhood good for beginners?

Short answer

Yes, for buying US stocks and ETFs. Robinhood charges no commission on stock and ETF trades, no account maintenance fee, and sells fractional shares from $1. It offers fewer research and planning tools than a full-service broker such as Fidelity.

The app is built to make a first trade easy, which is its strength and its risk. Options and crypto sit one tap away from stocks, so a beginner can take on more risk than they meant to without noticing.

What it lacks is a view of the whole portfolio. Robinhood shows each position and its return, not whether ten tech stocks add up to one big bet. That is the gap an AI that reads the account can close.

Is Robinhood safe?

Short answer

Robinhood Financial is a FINRA member and SIPC member, so securities in your account are protected up to $500,000, including $250,000 for cash, if the firm fails. SIPC does not cover market losses.

Connecting Robinhood to Walnut uses Robinhood's own sign-in. Your password is entered at Robinhood and never seen by Walnut, and you can disconnect the link from Walnut's Brokerage screen or from Robinhood at any time.

Can Robinhood connect to ChatGPT or Claude?

Short answer

Yes. Robinhood's Agentic Trading connector, launched May 2026, lets Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants read your Robinhood accounts and trade in a separate Robinhood Agentic account. Your main account stays view-only.

Walnut connects the same way and adds the parts a single-broker connector cannot: Robinhood next to your other brokers, each holding framed against the S&P 500, and baskets built around an idea you hold.

Quick answers

Does Robinhood charge fees?
No commission on US stocks and ETFs. Gold is $5 a month, and moving your account to another broker costs $100.
What is Robinhood Gold?
A $5 a month plan ($50 a year) with a 3% IRA match on contributions, Cortex AI digests, Nasdaq Level II data and a higher rate on cash.
What is a Robinhood Agentic account?
A separate account Robinhood offers to open when you connect an AI tool. It is the only Robinhood account an outside AI can trade in.
Can Walnut sell my Robinhood stocks?
Not yet. Walnut buys only in your Agentic account, and only orders you approve. Sell in the Robinhood app.
Does Walnut see my Robinhood password?
No. You sign in at Robinhood, which gives Walnut access to your accounts and never your login.
Is connecting Robinhood to Walnut free?
Yes. Connecting is free, and so is the assistant up to a per-session allowance. Walnut Unlimited, $9.99 a month on the web, lifts that limit.
