Where Walnut fits
Chase shows each position and how it compares with an index. Walnut reads Chase next to Fidelity, Robinhood or any other broker you connect, gives each holding a keep, trim or exit read, flags any name over a quarter of the portfolio, and answers questions about all of it.

Everything else people ask about investing with Chase, answered plainly.
Short answer
Yes, especially for people who already bank at Chase. There is no minimum to open, online stock, ETF and options trades carry no commission, and fractional shares of S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 names start at $5.
The draw is convenience: the account sits in the same Chase app as checking and savings, so moving cash in is one transfer. Traditional and Roth IRAs and UTMA accounts are available alongside a standard brokerage account.
What it lacks is a plain read on the whole portfolio, especially across brokers. Chase shows performance against up to three indices; it does not say whether a few names now carry most of the risk. That is the gap an AI that reads the account can close.

Accounts are held at J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, a FINRA and SIPC member, so securities are protected up to $500,000, including $250,000 for cash, if the firm fails. Investments are not FDIC insured, and SIPC does not cover market losses.
Connecting Chase to Walnut runs through a secure connection where you sign in at Chase. Walnut never sees or stores your Chase password, holds no money and moves none, and you can disconnect from Walnut's Brokerage screen at any time.

Short answer
Not directly. As of October 2026 J.P. Morgan Self-Directed Investing has no AI assistant and no official connector for ChatGPT or Claude. An app such as Walnut links Chase through a secure connection, and its connector lets Claude and ChatGPT read those holdings.
Through Walnut, Chase is read in full: every position, each one against the S&P 500, and a keep, trim or exit read per holding. Orders are not placed from Walnut at Chase, so any trade the assistant describes is one you place at Chase yourself.

- No commission on online stocks, ETFs and options, and no minimum. Options cost $0.65 per contract, phone trades $25, and a full transfer out $75.
- What is J.P. Morgan Personal Advisors?

- No. Walnut reads Chase in full and places no orders there. You place trades at Chase, or buy through Public, Robinhood or one of eight other brokers including E*Trade, tastytrade and Webull.
- Does Walnut see my Chase cost basis?
- No. Chase holdings arrive without cost basis, so Walnut shows each holding's price return against the S&P 500 rather than profit and loss.

- No. You sign in at Chase through a secure connection. Walnut never sees or stores the password and never holds or moves money.
- Is connecting Chase to Walnut free?
- Yes. Connecting is free, and so is the assistant up to a per-session allowance. Walnut Unlimited, $9.99 a month on the web, lifts that limit.
