AI features
What eToro's own AI does
eToro ships an AI companion, AI agents that trade in sub-accounts, and connectors for outside assistants.
Tori
eToro's AI companion. The relaunch added memory of your portfolio and past chats, and market sentiment drawn from X.
Agent Portfolios
Separate sub-portfolios where an AI agent you connect trades only the capital you set aside, while the main portfolio stays under your control.
AI Connectors
Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Grok to an eToro account, read only or read and act. Not offered in the US, Australia or Singapore.
Where Walnut fits
eToro's tools see eToro. Walnut reads it next to Fidelity, Vanguard or any other broker you connect, puts every holding against the S&P 500, flags anything over a quarter, and lets you ask about all of it.

Everything else people ask about eToro, answered plainly.
Short answer
It can be, for small stock, ETF and crypto positions. ETF trades carry no commission, US users pay no commission on stocks, and CopyTrader lets you copy other investors. Costs vary by country.
eToro was founded in 2007 and listed on Nasdaq in 2025. Its social side, CopyTrader and Smart Portfolios that group assets by theme, is what sets it apart from a plain broker.
Copying other people makes it easy to end up with a portfolio you did not choose name by name. A read that shows which holdings now carry the account, and how each has done against the S&P 500, is the check a copier rarely gets.

eToro is regulated in each region it serves, and the protection depends on which eToro company holds your account. UK clients are covered by the FSCS up to 85,000 pounds, EU clients by the Cyprus ICF up to 20,000 euros, and US securities accounts by SIPC.
eToro's Australian, Seychelles and Abu Dhabi entities list no compensation scheme, and in the US eToro says crypto holdings are not FDIC or SIPC insured. None of these schemes covers market losses.
Connecting eToro to Walnut uses a secure connection, and you sign in at eToro. Walnut never sees or stores the password, never holds or moves money, and you can disconnect from Walnut's Brokerage screen at any time.

Short answer
Yes, outside some countries. eToro's AI Connectors, launched October 2026, link an eToro account to Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, read only or read and act, with every action sent for your approval. They are not offered in the US, Australia or Singapore.
Walnut connects through a secure connection, read only, and adds what a single-broker connector cannot: eToro next to your other brokers, each holding framed against the S&P 500, and a flag on any one name over a quarter of the portfolio.

Outside the US, ETF trades are free and stock trades carry a $1 or $2 commission depending on your country. US users pay no stock commission. Crypto costs 1% to buy or sell, and withdrawing from a USD account costs $5 outside the US.
Currency conversion fees vary by location, payment method and eToro Club level, so a deposit in pounds or euros into a dollar account can cost more than the trade itself. Opening an account and managing it carry no fee.
