Trading 212 ships two AI products. Both work on Trading 212 accounts, in the app or through its API.
AI Chatbot
An in-app assistant that reads your Trading 212 portfolio, checks recent news and explains what moved, with linked sources. Experimental.
API for AI tools
Trading 212's API, in beta for Invest and Stocks ISA, can be wired to AI tools such as Claude Code to track positions and place orders.
Where Walnut fits

Everything else people ask about Trading 212, answered plainly.
Short answer
Yes, for buying stocks and ETFs at low cost. Trading 212 charges no commission and no custody fee on Invest and ISA accounts, sells fractional shares from £1 in a GBP account, and its main charge is a 0.15% FX fee when currency is converted.
In the UK the Stocks ISA is the usual starting point, since gains inside it are sheltered from tax. The cost to watch is currency: buying a US stock from a GBP account converts money and carries the 0.15% fee, and card deposits cost 0.7% once your card total passes £2,000.
The app also offers CFD accounts, which are leveraged and carry a far higher risk of loss than owning shares. What no single broker app shows well is the whole portfolio across accounts: what the total leans on, and how each holding has done against the S&P 500.

Short answer
Partly. Trading 212's API, in beta for Invest and Stocks ISA accounts, can be wired to AI tools such as Claude Code with an API key you create, and Trading 212 said in February 2026 those tools can place orders. It suits people comfortable setting up developer tools.
Walnut links Trading 212 through a secure connection instead. It reads the account next to your other brokers, frames each holding against the S&P 500, and its connector lets Claude and ChatGPT read the same holdings. Walnut also places the buys you approve in your Trading 212 account; sells you place in the Trading 212 app.
